Hey Josh, what an inspiring and heart touching story. I think you should become a writer, think on those lines.... It was so touchy and felt so real that i thought it's happening to me. Good piece of advise there. I appreciate your efforts to write that story.

Josh, you have opened my eyes for some crucial elements and I was inspired!

It gave me so many hints. One to share is possibility to get Canadian certificate/course/diploma in your speciality even before arriving.
Here is general link: learn4good.com/distance_learn/distance_learn_canada.htm

I think it is very wise to do something in order to receive decent work. Moreover, you can choose the significance of your degree according to your time and money possibilities. In any way, I think we have to ensure our future.

Certainly the above is a good idea, bit you also have to ensure the course is recognized by the Canadian Labour Office or Trade Associations before you invest your hard-earned money and time into the course.

Less,.. you may end-up with a certificate (or qualification) that is not recognized and thus, cannot be used when you are applying for jobs in the Canadian market later.

Can you share some of the courses please ? Are they recognized ?

FrenchAsian,

I agree 100% with your comments. On the other hand, I wonder how Josh is doing. His story really make think about the facts I must watch out for.
Even though, Canada is a beautiful and first world country we must be aware of the BEAST. The Beauty and the Beast. I am paying attention to work references and contacts that can make a huge difference.

Thanks for sharing your comments.

Dear Members,

Does any one know how Josh is doing?

I have discussed with my wife his story and have picked up some hints given by him.  Nevertheless, we believe we must prepare ourselves by taking steps that can make  difference such having someone who can help besides the gov. I have launched a deep reseach of places where we can work, live, study and take advantage of every single opportunity we can get.

Good luck to everyone..

I'm sorry "JOSH", while your story is inspiring to many,  i think you're first and biggest (if not only) mistake was to immigrate in the first place. Sounds to me you were pretty well off in India, then why the HELL did you immigrate ? Are you just ashamed of your nation Huh

There are so many people out there who will go through 100 times more hardship than you ever did, and not complain. People who's countries are actually in bad state, not like India (please no offense to India or Indians i respect you all) which is doing pretty well. Its sad to see people who actually deserve to immigrate are the ones who don't get through to Canada.
