Oh that's too bad Kieran.  I will start applying for a new one so that when you receive your landing interview you will have it.  I hope it's not too hard for you to apply for a new passport.

I am so pissed off....

I have to contact the NZ Embassy in Ottawa. It may be at my girlfriends parents so will check tomorrow and then apply. Only takes around 2 weeks for a new one....but very stressful

Our apartment is turned upside down right now.....

Did you check your vehicles too? I once lost my daughter's birth certification for over a year...finally found it in my glove box when I was doing a turbo clean to sell our van lol

Let`s hope that you will find it somewhere!
I know a lot about the stress to renew your passport until your landing when the time is tight. I wanted to get a new one for myself due to the fact that we were planning to go on a vacation and I needed an at least 6 month validity passport for that. I did every paperwork, pictures, put everything in a nice xpresspost envelope with my passport, paid the postal fees and when I saw the envelope thrown in the box I freaked out and asked the guy to give me my envelope back. He must have tought I`m a lunatic. That`s how much I became attached to mine. I could not let it go, thinking that I would not get it back in time and to be without it was just too scary. This is my story and we ended up not going on a vacation, because I`m too chicken! Grin

Best of luck for you to find it or get a new one very soon and congrats on your PR!

Well, we've now searched EVERYWHERE and can not find it.

I am so stressed out and angry right now.

I hope I can get a new one before my landing interview

That is the most careless thing one can do. Did you check everywhere? Like literally every single corner and crevasse in your home? Bags? Clothing? Maybe you used it as ID to enter into a club or something?

I really hope you get it back. I can understand your frustration. In my country, it takes about 9months to a year before one can get replace a misplaced or stolen passport.

Good luck!

Tell me about it. The last time I lost anything of importance was when I was 9 years old.

We checked every box, piece of clothing, every corner, under couches, car, my desk at work, EVERYWHERE

My gfs parents had a look at their place last night and were going out there tonight to look ourselves.

This is going to screw everything up.  Cry

When I read the thread title I honestly imagined much more dire things happening than the loss of a travel document....but, I do feel for you. Hope you find it soon (when was the last time you physically saw it or handled it?) and if you have to get a new one, it doesn't take too too long.

Yeah - I agree with ddobro2. When I saw the subject line, I thought you had been refused (because to me that was the worst possible thing that could have happened to my husband's application). Glad that wasn't what happened!

Good luck finding the passport!!! I hope it turns up in the next day!

I would start the process now of requesting a new passport (i.e. filing out the paperwork, getting the photos). From my expereince of losing things like that, they always seem to turn up when you stop looking and start working on the replacement.

I feel your pain! That's a terrible thing to have happened! But common sense tells me that no one can be that careless about important stuff like that. Most likely you will find it lying around in the least expected place! Best of luck!

ohhhhh kieran i feel your pain!
i'm a dab hand at temporarily misplacing items
you have to think think think
then back track and stay calm
panic means you don't see it even if it's front of you
good luck hope you find it soon!
