THE INTERVIEW IS NECESSARY ALWAYS TO DO? OR NO? HELP

 Hello people, hope you can help me with some information about the interview, i would like to know if the VO will ask for interview ? is it for sure? or just in case they will need it? , i read about that but now  im confuse cuz here some didnt interview, help to understand better.....

Not all spousal applicants are interviewed.  Typically they interview when you don't provide enough supporting evidence with the application of your "genuine" relationship.  Also, they sometimes require an interview if a common-law couple does not provide enough evidence of their common-law qualification.  Interviews for spousal and common-law applicants are frequently waived when they have provided careful documentation of their qualification and genuine relationship (meaning it's not about trying to get the foreign national into the country).

I disagree that interviews are called only because the documentation is inadequate, Robsluv.  After the interview with my wife, I asked the interviewing officer what was lacking in our application, what – if added – would have precluded an interview.

He had no firm answer. While he was not the officer who analyzed our application closely, he was familiar with the analytical notes, so it would seem there was no glaring insufficiency in the application.

He then asked me how long my wife and I had been married when the application was submitted. I answered “nine months”, and he guessed that had we been married longer at that time, there would  not have been an interview.

I take two points from this: there is tremendous inefficiency on the process, and VOs who assess documentation prefer to pass the buck and call interviews.

1)  If being married for only 9 months was really the issue, and being married for (say) 2 years would have precluded an interview, all the VO had to do was ask us for proof that we were still married – before calling the interview By the time of the interview, we had been married a full 27 months!  That phone call would have been easy to make (in fact, we did provide a notarized declaration from our landlord that we were a couple.)  And that simple phone call would  have saved everyone the considerable time and cost of the interview.

Apparently, then, CIC does not keep up with these files, making a little effort at the right time to save a lot of effort later. So a lot of time is wasted.

2) Sometimes no amount of documentation will do, as in this case.  If there are differences in age, finances, culture, etc. between the sponsor and the applicant/spouse, it is my impression that the documents VO will gladly pass the burden to the interview officer, rather than risk making a bad decision, which might blot the former's performance file and slow down the next promotion.

I am confident we have provided enough evidence. WE submitted more last July. Our lawyer says it is the strength of our application, yet after 22 months, as of yesterday we know there will be an interview, but we don't know why and when yet. We are still waiting for the official request.

Anything could explain this ?

Order your GCMS notes and they will let you know why do this ASAP incase the interview is called within the next 30 days so you are fully prepared

just wanna share this, my friend got her PR already and they applied for sponsorship 2 months after they got married. they are dating for 2 years before they got married tho. in my case my interview waived, my husband and I just married 11 months when we sent our application, but we're dating for a year before we got married. we provided proofs like joint acconts, same home ownership or same address,old pics since first date, including those family pic from the hospital when i gave birth to my daughter, wedding pics and pics with the relatives and friends. they probably thought that's enough proofs that our relaionship is "genuine". its just crazy sometimes that they are even look for the expression of those pictures that you have sent. In other forum that I read was one member got refused because the VO was not satisfied that their relationship is genuine because in their wedding pics the couple doesn't look very happy. who knows they just want to clarify some stuff in your case, but just in case review everything about each other and justify  it to the interviewer. cause they might ask even a private part of your relationship, like you wouldn't believe, they are unpredictable. they like to do a "surprise" question.  Just be prepare and you will be alright, if you really know each other there's nothing to worry. in addition, they do interview for background check as well..Good Luck

I will add my $2...

My wife in Brazil was processed and visa approved after only 4 months. We were married the 18th of April this year,
and by the 15th of May the application was in the mail.
She was NOT asked for an interview.
There is a big difference in our ages.
Our relationship evidence was weak IMO. I only had submitted 8 photos. Not 100. Not 200. Only 8. Three of the photos were from our marriage
and reception. I also didn't have any records of our emails and phone calls from the year before. I explained that I lost these records when my computer
crashed (the truth) and that I was very computer challenged and did the best I could.
What I DID include was the Skype and phone records from only the first two weeks I was back in Canada. I got a phone bill just before mailing off the
package and it showed the nearly daily calls I was making.

Those are weak evidence not just by your estimation. That must be an aberration or the officer that processed her file must be in a very good mood. In my own case, I submitted 18 pictures and many supporting documents. They were not satisfied and demanded for more. I had to send additional 15 pictures. Eventually, they scheduled my wife for an interview. In the end, she was denied. I appealed and won. She got the visa now but after a lengthy delay.

hey can u share with us.. why ur wife was denied visa at the interview? what were the questions asked?

Wow after reading some of these posts I think we are going a little ott with the amount of proof we are sending.

We are leaving nothing to chance having already had to prove how genuine our relationship is to the UK authorities in order to allow my Canadian wife to enter the UK for our marriage to take place.
