In many places on the CIC website it still shows 20,000 with 1000 per NOC.. on the page called "Federal Skilled Worker" and "How to apply" ...

Maybe its still being updated... the selection factors and forms.. ? should we wait it out for some more time..

CIC Twitter account posted an update an hour back saying " Changes to further reduce immigration backlogs and improve wait times, effective today."

That is for Canadian language benchmark. Like IELTS there is one more language testing agency call CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program) and they have different benchmark system then IELTS.

Hi I couldn't see any change in the link to suggest the change you are implying here. My understanding is that the banding for IELTS score is internationally standardized. I don't think CIC can set there own banding as you seem to be implying.

Hi Qorax ,

Please provide your valuable input.

Going through with statement made by Jason kenney on new rules "Effective July 1, 2011, the changes will affect new applicants to the federal Skilled Worker, federal Immigrant Investor and federal Entrepreneur programs. The changes will not affect the number of permanent resident admissions in 2011 in these three categories."

What I understand that the old applications will go hands on with new applications , as he clearly mentioned that the changes will not affect the number of admissions in 2011 for old applications. Correct me if am wrong. Hope from today the process for the old applicantions moves fast.

hi

those new point allocation will be implemented in july 2012 and not this year. check

http://www.gatewaytocanada.com/2011/06/mi-3-possible-changes-2011-fsw-new.html

Quite possibly, the proposed changes to FSW points system would be implemented starting July 1, 2012. The proposed changes are meant to make it easier for skilled tradespeople, technicians and apprentices to meet the passmark and to attract immigrants who will adapt more easily and be active members of the work force for a longer time frame.

If implemented, the ideal age would be 21-35 years old and that there would be a minimum level of language proficiency depending on the applicant's occupational skill level (i.e. a nurse would have a different requirement from a welder).

Yes, CIC has nowhere indicated that they r considering reducing the quantities of new immigrants into the country. In fact, Kenney has opined many a times that the nos. would remain the same.

Which implies that - Yes, the older lots would get the seriousness they deserve, now that the application/s intake stands reduced. Meaning: The backlog will continue to be addressed/reduced.

This is definitely a 'good sign' [as many put it that way] for the existing apps in their vaults [!].

qorax, but what a risk or possibilities of that more rejection who applied in year 2008 to year 2010?
because still somany of us got 2nd AOR case status  with "in process with pending review or RBVO" since morethan 8 to 10months.
that means with pending review and RBVO status people have chance for rejection!!

Rejection is that Sword of Damocles which'd loom large till u have the PRVs in hand. However, there's no vindication from the CIC against anyone... or their apps. As long as your file is complete, simple & straight - and there aren't any security issues... u should/would stride thru.
