The Canadian High Commission in Delhi is Taking 69 months for permanent residenc

Hello there!
God! The Canadian High Commission is taking more than five years to grant Permanent residency visas. That toooo long a time, I mean things change in those five years. Does anybody have an idea if these guys are doing something to speed things up? I applied in July 2005 and have no hope and have no hope till 2009 or 10. Are there guys in the same boat as me? I am having same case with you. My application is "in process" since sept 2006. The Canadian embassy gave 60 months for the visa approval. It's really too long to wait for the five-year time.

I hope they will be kind enough to do something to speed up the processing times. Can somebody tell us (people now in Canda) what to do to speed up our application?

Can we travel as tourists to canada and look for a job when we get there? Is this possible?? Thanks. Batteg

I guess the only way for you to speed up your processes is to have a Job offer.

It is a long process indeed, just be fully of patience

Hi!, The suggestion that the only way to speed up the permanent residency process is to have a job offer has a certain glitch to it. Most jobs, i think come with the tag "Canadian experience". So? Can someone tell me more about this 'Canadian experience' thing? Also if you have given an NOC Number for, lets say, an electrical engineer, or a Geologist, what's the point of it if finding a job initially, related to the specified occupation, is almpst impossible to come by? I mean, what's the significance of the NOC? QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS...anyone listening?, qumbi

I would like to share my thoughts about this topic

The Canadian work experience is much likely than the experience gained in our own countries, it means that, as a new comers, we must start from “Zero experience” just if we were a new College graduates.

Just think abut it for a second, most of the open positions in our own countries ask for “n” years of work experience in order to apply for, I guess it is not the first time for must of us, we made the same question before when we applied for our first job remember? “how come should I have work experience if I have never worked?” it was so stressed then.

Well, we face the same issue in Canada, once we start looking for our first Job in Canada; we are just as a new graduates with no work experience gained yet. It is hard to get job without work experience certainly... but we faced the same problem before and some how we got the required experience right?

We have Zero Canadian work experience indeed... but still, we have a very good background with us... which will help us to deal with the employers. (backgorund that non uf us had when we got our very first job)

Just be positive, going forward, never going back!!

Guys, the fact is that the latest time frame is 70 months. Which is six years of wait time. Now thats a very long time and life changes in six years. However if you decide to wait for six years and let opportunities pass by, then I feel its ok.
However the fact is that CHCND presently is processing 2002 - 2003 cases( as per my consultant). Therefore 2005 - 2006 is a very far away dream. Need to have patience and beleave me a lot if it. Things might change and the timeline can increase, which has happened in the past. The best way to deal with it is to stop thinking about it and continuing with the present. Otherwise one fine day you will realise that you have missed on lot of opportunities at home. Having said that, life is also good here. One need to encash on the opportunities.

I have done a detailed research and my conclusions are that life is not that rosey in Canada. The initial struggle is very high, which included looking for the job in your field of specialisation, upgrading your education etc. It take aroung two years to settle and also after that life is a constant upgradation process. Yes it a very beatifull country to live and work, provided you are successfull.

I have file in 2004 and beleave me no news from any body or on any development. I was told the process would take 18-24 mnths. My entire file is complete with IELTS score. But I have decided to forget about it. In fact I was a very regular reader of this forum. But for the last one years I have stopped looking into it. I just happened to pass by and share my experience and thoughts.

Carry on like you have never applied and live life as it comes by, you are right.  For me, the perpetual sticker on the CiC online  "We started processing your case in July 2005" has now faded into the background, and have taking inspiration fro you.
