I usually call 5 - 7 minutes before closing time and get through

I've batted one connection in six attempts on the one day I tried getting through (Thursday). I found the fellow who took my call reasonable at least, but as others have noted it's a bit disconcerting when he says things that don't agree with websites or the staff at the visa office in Tokyo. 8(

(I have to say I'm mildly glad that I'm not the only one.)
