Hello fellow forum members!!

Hope Everyone is receiving good news!!

Just want to share my landing and travel experiences with you all.

We finally landed with god's grace in Montreal after holidaying for almost a month in Europe and Honk Kong!

We left Sydney (Australia), then travelled to Hong Kong, Paris, London, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

Overall our holidays were excellent except for Paris which was very bad we would never go there again!

Finally after our holidays we landed in Montreal and at the airport everything went very smoothly!

At the airport we were only asked 2 questions by a very friendly CBSA officer the questions are below.

1. After getting your PR visa did you had any trouble with the law (Duly said No)
2. How much POF you have in your possession (officer was not interested in checking our funds, he said I trust you)

The officer then advised me to take a seat so that he can fill our PR card forms on-line (which took around 15-20 minutes for my family which consist of myself, wife and son). The officer than called us and officially congratulated and told us welcome to Canada!! and gave us lots of material to read.

I had a question for the CBSA officer, we are going to US for thanks giving so I asked him will there be any problem if we go to the US before our PR card arrives? The officer then advised me that usually it is recommended to wait until the PR card is arrived as the PR visa is only valid for one entry; however in our case its different as we hold a passport which does not require a Visa to enter either Canada or US, hence there should not be any problem. The officer then advised that the US officer might ask some questions that's it.

We were then advised to go to Quebec Immigration office (Since we are QSW applicant) we met another friendly lady who was very found of my son, she only took 5 minutes and arranged an appointment with MICC officer in down-town Montrea, that was it.

The following morning we applied for SIN number, opened bank account and applied for health insurance.

So far we are busy adjusting to new life in Canada.

I will try to post my experience later.

Thanks,

Cozi.
