Hi! im on the PR process right now, but i may or may not get it before my WP expires (tfw-not lmo exempt). I heard that i can use my ainp certificate to apply for a WP extension directly to vegreville without getting a new LMO. is it true? your reply is greatly appreciated.

I did the same thing. I submitted our application just last week. Our work pwermit will expire next month. Fingers crossed  and hope for the best!

THANKS!

Yes, it's true.  Apply for the WP extension with your Alberta nominee certificate and proof that you are still working for the same employer (recent pay stubs work).  No LMO required.

hi guyz same with my husband he applied for extension of WP last sept. 24, 2010 with the attachment of certificate of nomination and confirmation letter only w/o lmo, and last january 4 received WP extension valid only for 1 yr..... thanks

Hi did your husband workpermit got expire before he received the extension for a year?if so was he able to  continue working with the same  company, do you have kids that re in school would they allow kids to keep attending school while their parent work permite is in renewing process.i am just curious my permanent resident is in process in buffalo i have done my  medico but my workpermit is getting expire  next month just about to send  application for extension today. i thought i will just work straight to the border and renew or extend it. that is why i stay too long not knowing i have to do by sending it to vegreville alberta. i wonder how long it will take  because y husband  applicatin took 3 months.pls just the question about the kids  if they can attend  school i can  work,did his got expire?thanks
