Hi there,

I am an Australian and would like to apply for a temporary work visa, so that I can work in Canada.

I am having trouble finding information as to the best way to accomplish this.

I have a Diploma Of Screen, which allows me work in VFX, I can work in the TV industry, Movie industry or Games industry.

I am pretty sure I fall under this category.

4. Multimedia Software Developer (NOC 9990.4)
Duties: Developing and implementing multimedia software for interactive computer-based training (CBT) and promotional software applications.

Minimum Requirements

1.   Education: Bachelor's degree or a two-year post-secondary diploma or certification with a computing element.
2.   Language: Working proficiency in English or French (written and oral)
3.   Experience: Two years of experience in elements in producing and incorporating the following elements into CBT and multimedia applications:
o   digital video;
o   2D and 3D graphics;
o   2D and 3D animation; and
o   digitized audio.

This is information I got from here:   http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/itw-jobs.asp

Does this exempt me from having to get a LMO?

Do I need to have a job offer to get a temporary work visa or can I get the visa, head over to Canada and start looking for work?

How long do temporary work visas last?

Will age affect my application? I am turning 32 next month.

Anything else I should know about the process of getting a temporary work visa?

Thanks for reading and I look forward to your replies.

1.  Even if the job is LMO exempt you still need a job offer to get a TWP.
2.  You can visit an look for a job, but you will still need to exit Canada to get the TWP if you get a job offer that falls within the exemption
3.  Usually 2 years.
