I am not a teacher, but may be able to give you some help with contact information.  There are at least 13 different School Boards or School Districts (Public) and a multitude of Independent Schools (Private).  I believe the Public Schools have unions so teachers are hired by seniority within their Board or District.  The school year begins in early September (children will start on 6 September 2011 this year).
I am sure you can find contact information with a Google search for any of the following:
School District (SD) 34 Abbotsford; 93 Francophone; 37 Delta; 35 Langley; 42 Maple Ridge; 40 New Westminster; 44 North Vancouver; 36 Surrey; 45 West Vancouver
School Board (SB) Burnaby; Coquitlam; Richmond; Vancouver.

Another search "independent schools vancouver" will lead you to all sorts of private schools.  As a teacher with no seniority, I wonder if this might be a more likely place to get a job lead.  I believe salaries/benefits are not as good as in the public school system.

Elementary Schools (Kindergarten-Grade 7) - age 5-12; Secondary  (Grade 8-12) age 13-18.
Good Luck.

Ha Ha Ha, Katoky.  I barely know how to turn on my computer, so asking me about IT jobs is a joke.  Sorry.  I'll keep my ears and eyes open in case I hear something from my daughter's friends though.
