i would like someone to clarify me about tax deduction from salaries in canada. If one's salary is about 1200$ a month, how much will they deduct for tax? Thanks

It depends on the province.  There is a calculator at http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/esrvc-srvce/tx/bsnss/pdoc-eng.html

First accept

On the next screen pick a province and monthly, then click on Salary / Bonus etc.

On the next screen, click on Determine gross income

Next screen write 1200 in the Salary field and click OK

Next screen, click calculate

I tried it for BC and AB, both give you around 1100 left after taxes.

And I hope you also realize that this is not a lot of money when you live in Canada.  It is basic survival, not much more.  If you are working full time, it translates to something like $6.92 per hour.  Minimum wage in Quebec is $8.50 an hour or 7.75 if you have the possibility of getting tips.
