Taking a US rental car into Canada and back (UK citizen)

My friend, who is a UK citizen, is visiting me soon in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He will rent a car here and wants to take the car into Canada to visit the Falls and then bring it back into the USA. Is this permissible and are any special arrangements required? Many thanks, Reggae.

No problems, but make sure you tell the car rental company that you will drive the car in Ontario.  If you don't you will get problems if something happends or if you get pulled over.
