You could scan them into a large pdf file, annotate the individual items and print the whole thing

FYI - The CIC web site specifically says not to send them calling cards. Print pictures and send it to them - you will get those back. 3rd party proof is most valuable - eg. letter from banquet hall where marriage/reception was held, letter from priest, letter from photographer etc. Make sure they write on official letter head. I never really found a legit answer for this question, maybe my searching skills aren't that great..
The supporting documents that I am sending, like birthday card, calling cards, things that I would like back.. Do I get them back at all, or will they send those back to me when they are done with them. Do I have to request that I would like them back?

You can not send them a callin card..what does that tell a VO? you need to send them phone bills..from toronto to destination, a lot of calling cards or phone service have the call log, which you print and send.
reg, orgionals..it depends what you want to scan..if you think origionals make more sense send them if not hold it scan and attach a letter saying why you sent them a scanned letter, card etc.
remember a birthday card is not a great proof anyways, anyone can write a card and send it to ND as proof..i woudn't be surprised if they even have a look at cards. its more of contact...call history, pics, marriage crowd, honeymoon pics, bills for hotel stays, airtickets together etc..

In the guide for south asia, it says don put pics in binders, no cds and no calling cards. not sure where you applicant is...could be different by region.

fprince is right. calling card doesn't prove anything (even if guide doesn't say anything about not sending it). it's just a plastic card. you need to get the call history that will show the numbers and country you called. Where does it say not to send them in, I haven't seen this yet? Can you show me?? I have only seen it on some region specific guides, and on mine it doesn't say that

My region specific guide says this.. "Photos must be loose. Do not send them in binders, albums, frames or other such containers. Do not send video discs or video cassettes. Do not send musical greeting cards or other similar documents containing electronic or mechanical devices. Proof of your sponsor's visits such as airline ticket coupons, boarding passes, copies of pages of your sponsor's passport showing entry/exit stamp."
Nowhere anything about calling cards/birthday cards. And its not a regular birthday card, its the message inside it that counts towards showing a genuine relationship I would assume. Why would they want all this proof if they won't look at it? That doesn't make sense. I am sending things so they can see its for the love, and not just immigrating.
I have calling records.. but this is the situation. I have a call history for a period of time, and then since my long distance company's rate went up by 10 cents and I found that ridiculous, I cancelled by plan with them and found a calling card which was so much cheaper than thatcompany's rate. I was switching company's during that period, so when I found a company that was equal to the calling cards rate, I stayed with them and ditched the cards. I'm sure if I wrote them a letter explaining that they will see I was just trying to save myself a pretty penny while being away from my husband. So here is what I mean -
January - April ... phone records April - July ... calling cards July - today ... phone records
Edit - I would just like to add that they will clearly see the switch by the phone records company name.

Yes, well done. When they say don send calling cards.. they meant the actual cards which look like a credit card sized card. It tells no one where u called and whom you called. It was in the region specific guide for India or somewhere on the forms when it said..first contact..send details and don send calling cards. not sure where. You have enough documentation, all the best.
