Hi,
I was wondering if anybody knows if a photocopy of the long form birth certificate is needed for the sponsors supporting documents or would the wallet size be good enough?

Thanks! :)

Not sure but if you can get the long copy, it may be preferable.
I guess the IO will be looking for proof of birth in Canada - if applicable - if you can't obtain the long copy then send the short version with passport/COPR etc.

But if you have a Canadian passport, do you need a birth certificate too? (I guess it helps if you need to show you are a Canadian by descent).

It depends on the visa office that you are dealing with.  I just included a scanned copy of my birth certificate card.  Nothing else.
