Situation:
I have been in Canada for 8 years now.
From Student Status to Worker now
Taiwan would be my country of origin
Canada would be my residence

Now, this form request us to list all trips that I have taken outside country of origin or of residence in the last ten years(or since age 18)

Shall I list the trip that I took to Taiwan for visiting? trip that I took to Canada for studying?
It's hard to define when my country of origin and residence are different.

Or shall I just list the trip that I took outside Taiwan and Canada?

Please help ASAP.

Thanks!!

nico - I would guess that you could exclude the trips to Taiwan, but I suggest you call the CIC Information on this and post their response.  This form is new to us and we don't have much experience to share ...

Hey Nico
I am not sure if this makes any sense to you

Jan  2000 To Jan   2001   Canada
Feb 2001 To March 2002   Home Country
April 2002 to       Jan 2003  Canada
Jan 2003 To March  2003   Home Country

We cover both ways by doing this..  I am also under the same situation Smiley

Thanks. Jes_On

I will do that then.

One more question,

As for personal history, I excluded all trips visiting Taiwan (all these trips are less than 30 days)
Ps. I remembered I've seen some info saying that states activities that occur more than one month. Am I correct?

Now, if i do need to include it into the Travel form, shall I list them in the personal history.
well.. I guess I have to find this out.

I have just speak with CIC agent regarding this issue

With "supplementary information-Your travels",

I shall list all trips to Taiwan and excluded the time period in Canada

With "personal history"

I shall list all trips as well (Taiwan included), even through it's less than 30 days

I have to say that I have a little doubt on agent's answer. Therefore, I will be phoning again to double confirm it

I called earlier today right after the first call to CIC regarding this issue.

Taiwan trip will need to be included and excluded the time period in Canada.

With Personal History, I will need to fill in everything.

He says, he is not the one reviewing the application so he can not tell me what to put down. But, he personally suggest that I shall try to list everything because only "lack" of information would be the reason of rejection. LOL

anyhow, hope that information I got regarding this issue help out to others.

PS. Thanks. Jes_ON & CEC_2174

Hello! I'm from Taiwan as well. Sorry but what do you mean excluded the time period in Canada? While you were a student in Canada, the trips back to Taiwan still needs to be included on the application?

Yeah.. you need to include the Taiwan trips..

you just don't need to consider "coming to Canada" as trips..

Ps. This is what I understand from the conversation I had with CIC agent...

Hi ,

Is there anyone who could help me with the following??:

RE: Supplementary Info- Your travels

Question # 1: Does it apply to me if my nationality is Hungarian but I was was born is Serbia (near the hungarian border) and after my primary school studies in Serbia I continued with my studies in Hungary...I was back and forth for several years. Which means during the week I was in Hungary and for weekends and went back to Serbia. I've spent the summer holidays in Serbia...That time I was not a Hungarian citizen , I had study visa that time but I'm a Hungarian citizen today.. (it's complicated) .. I made a trip from Serbia to Hungary and from Hungary to Serbia around 100 times per year for 8 years...(high school, vocational training and univerisity studies... It say's on the application: " have taken outside your country of origin or of residence" - I'm a little bit confused...

Question # 2: Also coming to Canada counts as a trip?

I have never been in any other country than Hungary-Serbia and Canada in the last 10 years...

Please help!

Thanks
