2nd medicals? Whats that about? Are you the one getting sponsored or are you the one sponsoring?
How did you differentiate your application from a regular tourist visa application?

I haven't applied my folks yet but will do so in the next couple of weeks. Just would like to get some ideas prior to applying.

Hi there! do you know that applicants for  Super Visas in Canada must have to get their health insurance from Canadian Insurance Company . This will make sure that the elderly people coming to Canada on this Super Visa Category does not become a burden on Canadian health system.
CIC will not accept any new applications for sponsorship in the next 2 years and will finish the backlog. They are also expected to make revisions in their current policy of sponsorship after these couple of years in order to make it more practical and realistic.

To apply for Canadian Super Visa you have to apply in the Canadian embassy or high commission in the country where you currently reside with the proper documents   for Super Visa and get Medical Insurance

needs to redo the xray, i dont know why? just for my mom in law and my dad in law's med was perfect.

here's the difference between the two:

                      reg tourist visa                                          supervisa
processing fee: $75 each                                                  $75 each
medical:            none                                                       yes ( approx. P8k for both of them)
interview:          yes                                                         i think there's none
insurance:          it's ok without it                                        should have 1 year of 100k coverage each ( i got $4k+ for both of them)
min. stay:          6 mos                                                      2 years then up to 10 years if u want to extend their stay
there is a little chance                                i think theres a better chance if u apply in this category
to approve if u apply under this category
coz i applied them twice before with the
same reason but still, they denied it  Angry
(well, it is just based on our experience)

Getting a visa is not logical you can get approved one time and denied a second time.  I can help you with insurance but I suggest you get a professional to help you with the application that specializes in this area.  You can use lawyer or licensed paralegal in immigration they have a specific catagory.  I am in Toronto if you are close by call me I can find someone to refer you to, I am getting lots of enquiries from law firms and immigration paralegals who have client that need coverage for the super visa.

Hi there!

First of all, congratulations, you'll soon be reunited with your parents Smiley

I am gathering information now on how I can help my parents get a Supervisa.
Would you mind helping me? Here are a few of my questions.

1. Did your parents have to provide income tax returns, bank certificates (savings etc) and other proof of assets?
2. Aside from your Certificate of Employment, did you have to submit proof of funds from banks or other financial institution in Canada?
3. Did you have to go through the call center for someone to pick up the documents from your parents house or did they bring it straight to the embassy? It seems like the processing was done pretty fast.
I would really appreciate your help Smiley I am excited about this... i haven't seen my parents (aside from skype) for over 5 yrs now
