I have been talking with a few of my friends.
They claimed that for visitor Visa to Canada from Viet Nam, the applicants from Viet Nam need to show that they have money in Viet Nam by a form of a bank account and other form like owing properties.

Is this fact or myth?
Is this a requirement for SUPER VISA because my wife wants to sponsor her mom to Canada to see our baby.
If it is a requirement, how much is needed in the bank and for how many months?

Any inputs are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

According to Citizenship and Immigration Canada, parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have been found admissible to Canada and meet some other conditions are eligible for the Super Visa
You will need  the proof of private medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company.
 The coverage must:

• Be valid for a minimum of one year

• Cover health care, hospitalization and repatriation

• Provide a minimum coverage of $100,000

• Be valid for each entry to Canada and available for review by a port of entry officer
