hi everyone

we all know that the embassies require proof of your itinerary for travel both to and from Canada in order to prove you will return to your home country.

my concern is that we don't get our tourist visas and we need to refund or return our tickets. specifically, we plan to fly with Air Canada.

does anyone have experience buying airline tickets and later getting the money back if you cancel? or is it still possible to just make a reservation and pay for it once we get the visa?

does anyone have experience with the actual visa application in this area - do they want to see the ticket purchased or just reserved?

thanks in advance

My wife got her Temp Visa without booking any tickets in advance.  We picked the dates we wanted well in advance and tried for the visa.  Once we had it we reserved and bought the tickets.  This is the safest way to proceed.

If you really want to book the tickets in advance make sure you purchases tickets that are refundable.  Many sale price seats cannot be refunded and you will lost all or most of your ticket cost.
