I just wanted to make a post to tell what I submitted in lieu of a previous tax year Option C, because I had a hard time finding out info about it before I sent in my application.

I couldn't get my Option C because they had not finished my tax assessment, so I sent a note explaining that, bank statements of mine and my partners, a couple of pay stubs from the previous year and my Option C from the previous year. I was approved as a sponsor without request for additional documents. And just for extra info, I am a student, so I had very little income.

Hope this helps someone who is agonizing over the decision of whether to send in their app without an Option C!

Thats great news. Thank you for sharing. I mailed in my application out yesterday. I also was unable to provide a Option C printout. I included a letter explaining why, letters of employment, copies of T4 slips, and pay stubs. I hope it is enough for me too.. heres hoping. I will update you when I get a response.

Awesome info, thanks a lot! Quick question though: What good do you think will the bank statements do?

I had been living in Germany for a year at the time we submitted the application, and I was still unemployed, so I wanted to show that I had savings and my partner had savings, and I wouldn't have to get social assistance just because I was unemployed. Obviously, if you are employed and make a pretty good income, you may not need to send bank statements showing your savings.
