Submitting evidence after having sent in the application

Hey everyone! i'm new to this forum but i'm hoping someone might be able to help me out.
My bf and I were just about to submit our common law application when we realised that we were missing a police certificate from australia (even though my bf is a UK citizen, because he travelled in australia for over 6 mths he needs one) .
The trouble is this could take up to 6 weeks to get ( including mail time). Do you think we would be okay to submit our application anyway and send that afterwards. or should we wait and submit it all together. Also would we send it to Canada or to the visa office in London ( where his application will eventually go).
Has anyone forgot to submit information and then sent it afterwards ( without being advised to by CIC).
thanks for all your help!!!!!

Oh and by the way on the application it asked where you have lived for period more than 6 months
so mississauga will be looking for that police check in the application if you do not send it they will just return the application to you and ask you to re submit when all documentation is there !!!!
