Hi,

Im applying for a visa, with my boyfriend sponsoring me as common law. When sending in my fingerprints to FBI for the police certificate I hadnīt realized how long it can take (8-12 weeks!). My question is:

Can we send in the application before getting the police certificate from the USA, stating that its in process? This way they could check everything else and hopefully it would all come together?

Yes you can submit it while your FBI background check is in process. Once you get it, send it in ASAP! It took me two months to get the FBI back on the mail.

We sent ours without the FBI.

I sent my application without FBI and it passed the sponsorship approval stage and current status is "Application Received" by the visa office.
I'm also waiting for my FBI.  The guideline says it can take 13 weeks.
