For example i m in a program of length which is 6 months....can i extend it for a 2 year program ?

You do not need a study permit if your course lasts 6 months or less.

but i need to know that......if i m on a program that is for 4 months or 6 months should i apply for a study permit bcoz after in canada u can only extend ur study permit if u have it from ur home country......my purpose is to study 2 years after 5 months to get PWD.

Hi,

1. You do not need a study permit for a program lasts 6 month or less. However, it's "highly recommended" to apply/get a study permit from your homeland. In case you plan to continue your studies in another course, your ONLY option would be to apply for a study permit outside Canada. So, to avoid such a situation it's better to have it in advance.

if you want to study 2 year,
you have to apply from your homeland CHC.
