Study permit application with relative in Canada

Hi, may I ask if having a relative in Canada jeopardize the chances of obtaining study permit?

I have a brother who is willing to support me by providing food and shelter during my two year stay as a student. My husband and my son are not coming with me. I have a job waiting for me as soon as I finish my study and potential job promotions awaits. We have house and lot and savings of $20,000.

Will a letter of support from my Canadian citizen  brother help in my application?
