Hi,

Most of PR holders try to gain some canadian degree (MS/PHD) to get ground in alien place. Hope predecessors give some insight on this..

Good question!

Did anyone try this? master or PHD studies? Any insights would be great.

Cheers

i think most people opt for ms or phd after PR. As many university ask , if applicant is pr holder or not . Accordingly course fees are suggested . I am cent percent sure , we can study after PR. fees are less Cheesy Cheesy Wink

In post graduate courses, the fees for international student are around 12000  - 15000 ca$ / year and for PR or citizen, it's around 3000-5000 Ca$ / year

Recently I've been searching for MS/Phd opportunities in CA , as I opt for having some canadian degree to secure future. One thing  I noticed, CA profs don't reply back tht much ; in fact replies rarely.

Yes..for PRs, the fee is less..but you know, we'll be looking for funding nd so on..

Is it that if i cant persuade any prof , my chances of funding will be slim..? [ unlike in USA, where if you apply to graduate office, tht suffices most of cases ]

Again..looking for insigt..

well ROYAL to very frank  ,CA prof most of them wont reply coz of academic and experience  credential don't meet  expectation.very tough to get any kind of funding [ lot of competition around world for a single seat , labs are small , funds by sponsor limited] .They give lot of priority to own citizen or PR holders.I know , how it feels .

bursary is applicable to international students also. To avail bursary, they have to fulfill some conditions. Yes, it's little hard for intl. students to get bursary as compared to pr / citizen.
