Student visa and PR applying both at a time

Hi Folks,
I desperately need an expert opinion from all the senior members. I am in the middle of canada immigration process (Received 2nd AOR on 18th August, 2010 from London Visa office). From this forum I observed that it may take one year from now on to get in to Canada as an immigrant Meanwhile i just want to secure admission in postgraduate study in Canadian university. I have couple of confusions which are as follow.
1. If my classes begin early before getting the PR status then I will have to move to canada on student Visa in that case how can i pursue my immigration process (If i get the passport request during my stay in Canada as a student how can i deal with it).
2. Does it sound feasible to move to Canada on student visa while my immigration case is in queue (Though in this case i will save some time).
Please seniors give your input in the above scenario.
Thanks

Yes you will be able to dealt with it you will have to exit canada and re-enter with your PR and visa will be stamped from the office who approved your visa which i guess is London CHC.

You can apply for any visa during your application processing but it is STRONGLY recommended not to apply for student visa as it will end up in rejection and will cause doubts on visa officer mind for your PR application.
Please seniors give your input in the above scenario.
Thanks
Cheers
