Student Travel Insurance is must for USA and CANADA just in case something wrong happens ICICI LOMBARD AND BAJAJ ALLIANZ are very good. Regarding flight insurance its entirely up to you to decide.

You will get insurance from the university you are attending or from the province you will be residing in. No need to buy extra insurance from your country.
