I am software engineer holding H1B visa, am I eligible for this AINP US visa holder category ? for I would not find software engineer on their NOC list, but on Alberta regional list, there is code 2173 for Software Engineers and Designers.
thank you so much for your reply!!!

AB H1B program is at http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/campaigns/h1b.html2173 Software Engineers and Designers is on their list If you want to apply, try to get in before April 15 because they will change the list then and nobody knows what will be taken out of it.

go4canada,
From what I understand, even if you put the NOC number on the application, they will consider your application based on the current job responsibilities. The title may not match the NOC, but if your job duties do match the NOC, that might be considered. I have specifically asked AINP about this as my job title is way off the job responsibilties and I got through the pre-assesment. Now I am waiting on the nomination.

iAlberta,
I have seen a thread here where the person was asked to submit the missing CIC form. From that I guess, they will ask you for the missing form, like they ask for the paystubs etc....
Good luck.

Hi,
I am about to mail out my application forms. When I collect supporting documents for my employment, I found out that the job title on the letter of employment is different from the H1B application form. One is R&D Engineer and the other one is Software Engineer. I am wondering if it will cause any trouble if I send both of them.
Thanks
Nate

I sent my AINP docs on 1st april and they reached on 2nd april now waiting for file number. I have one question i applied under NOC 2173 Software Engineer and Designer i have computer science degree but don't have any engineering license, whether it will work or not? in the employment requirements for NOC 2173 they stated http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2173Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of professional engineers is required to approve engineering drawings and reports and to practise as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). foks any idea about it?

http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigrate/srsvisaholder.htmlIf the Candidate is approved as a Provincial Nominee and they find employment in their field in Alberta, the AINP may be able to issue a letter of support that would help the Candidate start working in Alberta right away, prior to their application for permanent residence with CIC being finalised.

Thank you, Ell.Bee. My job duties is software ware engineer, I am working for a company designing software middle ware for Set Top Box. In this case, what's the four digit NOC code should I fill in AINP 009A form in C part? thanks. go4canada,

Ok, I talked to the AINP just now and they said that if everything is in order, you may not get your file number and would receive the nomination letter directly and not to panic as it is not yet 5 months since the date you applied (my appln was rcvd on Jan 16th).
So folks, dont expect a file number under the new process and keep checking your snail mail boxes according to them.

Can any body explain employment requiremtns which come under 2173 Software Engineer and Designer whether we need nay Engineering license to qualify for NOC 2173? http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2173Employment requirements- A bachelor's degree, usually in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering or mathematics or Completion of a college program in computer science is usually required.
- A master's or doctoral degree in a related discipline may be required.
- Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of professional engineers is required to approve engineering drawings and reports and to practise as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
- Engineers are eligible for registration following graduation from an accredited educational program, three or four years of supervised work experience in engineering and passing a professional practice examination.
- Experience as a computer programmer is usually required.
