I was accepted as a provincial nominee by Nova Scotia. I submitted my application to the Ankara visa office on Nov. 21, 2011. It's been just short of 12 weeks and I still have not received an AOR! I emailed the visa office early last week and nothing Sad
I thought they were supposed to notify you one way or another within 3 months?
What should I do? Just keep on waiting?! For how long?
Thanks in advance!

I also applied to CIC in November.  Mine was delivered on November 14th and my bank draft was cashed on January 11 and I have heard nothing.  It appears that late October/November applicants have been caught between the new system of submitting to Sydney and the holiday break, so it is taking longer.

From looking at the trackitt forums, it looks like people are starting to get AOR based on when their drafts were cashed.  CEC applicants have similar timelines to PNP applicants and it looks like most of them had their drafts cashed in December.  I would expect something in the next month.

I wired the money Sad  Should have made it a bank draft...
I was thinking along the same lines, what with the new system and all, it might take longer than expected.

I know I have to be patient, but it's hard when my boss is pressuring me to sign on for another year and I really don't want to, as I was hoping this could be sorted out by this summer.

Do they do the background checks before they send the AOR? I've lived in several countries, so I'm also wondering if that might be yet another reason for the longer wait?

I definitely understand wanting some sort of contact from them.  I was under the impression that if you got your AOR that it mainly meant that your application was complete and that it would begin processing.  Some people do seem to think that a background check is done before your AOR, but I honestly don't know.  It will obviously depend on which countries you have lived in.

I received my AOR and MR on February 28th.  My case was transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa and I did my medicals on March 6th.

Have you heard anything about your application?  I would expect you should receive something soon...

Happy to hear your got it already! I haven't heard a thing yet, but hearing your good news gives me some hope... though I would think that the Buffalo office is faster than the Ankara one...
Best of luck!
