Hi all,

It has been 6 agonizing weeks waiting for my passport to be returned. All the people whom I know that has the same timeline as me more or less have received their visas. Passport request Sept. 21, Sent PP to Canadian Embassy September 27, 2010.

I checked my status and it changed to decision made last Oct. 19,2010 but until now still no word. Is there any possiblity that it will be a negative decision? I am very anxious to know please advise...

Does anybody have the same timeline as me and have not received their visas yet???  Huh

Thanks

buddy it cant be negative. delays are possible. why dont you just ring the embassy and ask about your passport. there is no harm in it.

Although there can be delays, the only thing that can really go wrong after your passports have been requested is if you pass 1 year after medicals prior to visa being issued, in which case you may have to do new medicals. Also occasionally there are photo problems issuing PR card and people have to get photos taken. But I have never heard of a single case of rejection once passports have been requested; after this stage it's all just a formality, but I imagine the delays are frustrating.

2 months isn't unheard of for getting visa after PPR, so I'd wait until mid-December (2 months after decision made) and if you've heard nothing then contact your visa office.

Relax, you're almost there! Some of us it seems will be waiting a large portion of eternity just to get first AOR Wink

Also I would recommend attending a CIIP course after you get med requests!

Thank you so much for your inputs guys, the anxiety is really killing me. But, thanks again for the reassurance.

I think it's the thought that my friends already received their visas... I'll take your suggestion and try sending an inquiry to the embassy.
