hello everyone
really i don't know anything about the process for immigration
could you please give me a brief steps for immigration
i hear a lot about file number, and i have been told that file number is every thing in the immigration process, can anyone tell me what is file number, and is it a great thing if you get it without job???.

If you want to apply for federal skill worker category 1, see the first two posts on

If you go to www.cic.gc.ca, you can get more information on all the categories there is.

File number is great because it allows you to check online the status of your application. You only receive this after they receive your application/documentation and send you a file number as an acknowledgment. This is at least true for FSW.

Please don't expect me to answer if your post title has urgent in it and it is not really urgent. Urgent is 911 or you have a definite deadline tomorrow, not that you would like to send in the application soon
