Dear All
I have a question for all of you specially seniors. QORAX!!!
I apologize if this thread has been answered some where else.
I want to settle my family in canada while I will work abroad staying outside canada. As I know to maintain Perm.resd one can live for max 3/5 yrs outside canada. would it be possible that I let my family to stay 3 yrs in canada starting from earlier after getting per.resd cards and they apply directly for citizenship after completing 3 yrs before their renewal of perm.resd.cards and while I tay outside for 3 yrs. will their stay for 3 yrs in canada will also counts my time as well of 3 yrs while staying outside. I am main principal applicant.
kindly guide me that how can I get my canadian citizenship while staying outside for indefinite time period and family staying in canada??? I heard that if family gets citizenship they can apply main principal applicant later if his perm resd.card expire and he is outside canada???
Thanks

you can let your family to stay 3yrs in Canada sooner after landing before getting their PR cards which usually receive up to 1 month.  But your family members stay in Canada does not count your PR residency obligation.  You have to either accumulate physical residency or hired by a Canadian company and work outside Canada.   Canadian citizen can live outside Canada indefinitely without worry lose of Canadian citizenship.  Canadian citizen and PR can sponsor their family members to join them in Canada.

Your physical presence for 3 years inside Canada is absolutely necessary within the 5 years period to maintain your PR and to qualify you for applying for a citizenship. You won't get credit for your family's stay.

You are the principal applicant,  not said as 'main p..... a....' .

All family members who meet the citizenship application criteria including 1095 days of stay in last 4 years can apply for citizenship even before renewal of PR card

will their stay for 3 yrs in canada will also counts my time as well of 3 yrs while staying outside. I am main principal applicant. - NO. Each member needs to complete his or her own residency obligation for citizenship or PR renewal.

Timelines can vary from 9 months to 20 months
Thanks
