No, I can't advise that.  I can only say that he's a child, and so long as you meet all the qualifications and requirements I can't see too many reasons why they would refuse your sponsorship of him.

When the time comes to send the passport, I recommend you send it by courier, rather than mail it. Safer and faster that way.

Just received a letter from Hong Kong visa office and said that I need to provide some additional documents like

1. Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008)
2. Schedule A - Background/Declaration (IMM 5669)
3. Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)

for my son. I already filled that up and sent back to Hong Kong immediately. Since they have a UCI# on the letter, so I can check the status online, and found that they have already received my son's medical report.

My question is
1. What is the next step they will ask me to do?
2. The letter mentioned "In order to process your application as quickly as possible, it is suggested that PRC appliciants obtain their travel documents to come to Hong Kong immediately. This could facilitate the overall processing time of your application."
What does this mean? I need to send my son's passport to them right now?
3. And once they putted the paper on my son's passport, do I need to go back Hong Kong and pick that up or they will send that back to me?

Appreciated your advise, thank you.

If you sent your son's passport along with the other documents as long as you sent it with a return courier envelope you wont need to traveol back to Hong Kong and get it.

So now, my wife and I are both in Hong Kong right now and waiting for my son's passport back from Hong Kong visa office, as we received a letter from visa office said that we can sumbit my son's passport, so that once we received it, then three of us can travel back to Canada. However, while we are waiting, we suddenly received a letter from Hong Kong office and say that we need to provide additional information from us to proof that we are currently resident in Canada. Here are the information they need
A. Bank or Credit card statement
B. Utilities bills
C. Tax return (we already gave the written explaination to Ontario visa office before, we just moved back to Canada and haven't file any tax yet, don't know why they need this information again)
D. Employment Letter

Lucky, we had all information on hand before we travel back to Hong Kong, but really don't understand why they need this kind of information and we are so worry that it will affect the process time, and we cannot get back our son's passport before end of this month, as my wife and I are both working in Canada, our boss gotta kill us!!!

What is your question? Submit what they request ASAP.

It doesn't matter why they're asking for the proof of Cdn residency, you just need to comply as best you can. It could be a part of CIC's recent crack down on immigration fraud where people claim they live in Canada but don't provide sufficient proof of residency, or provide fake proof. Maybe you communicated with them from HK and somebody processing your son's case said, hey, how these guys are here when they're supposed to be in Canada? Let's re-check them... I don't know.
