I got an email fro CIC Buffalo, that my file is transferred to Detriot to determine if interview needs to be waived etc.
I have some questions now:

1. Generally how much time this would take?
2. Does this mean the buffalo office is done with verification of my documents?

Please confirm

Thank You

1. How much time it'd take is hard to guess, 'coz it depends on case-to-case basis. However, usually the processing should complete by 2 yrs.

2. No, it doesn't mean that Buffalo has done with your verifications. It just means that your complete case has been transferred to Detroit. It's hapenning with many, yours is not a perticular case. This new CHC will now do it's due diligence.

After our case was transfer we received medicals request and interview was waived.
File Transfer to Detroit : 05/17/2010
In Process : 05/28/2010
Medicals Request: 06/15/2010

You should get In Porcess soon. But you may check with other this was 4 months ago. Maybe now is faster or slower.

I know how it feels to be waiting. We applied last year August 2009. The first step was quick by October our case was approved by Nova Scotia and instruction to send full application to Buffalo was sent to us (10/5/2009). After that we submitted full application October 14th then our case was sat down for 8 months. No change no news until it was transferred to Detroit. Since that everything moved quickly but still the wait was not over. After medical were sent to Ottawa, we wait 3 long months to receive PPR and now we are waiting again to receive our passport back with the visa, this can take 2 months.
If you count the time,  it took for our case, without interview and no more documents requested, 12 months to be approved. Then the only thing I can say is be patient and it will come. Check with others to see how timeframe changes in time. When I was waiting for PPR there were people waiting for it since MAY. Then I started to see some progress and people started to receiving PPR within 3 to 4 months. Now there are people receiving it in one month. But this can change in the future.

Good Luck

Our time line:

1. Applied for PNP on 04/01/2010
2. PNP approved on 22/01/2010
3. Received approved PNP pack and certificate back from St. John's on 07/02/2010
4. Sent application and nomination for PR to Buffalo on 08/02/2010
5. Application received by Buffalo on 24/02/2010
6. Received request for medicals on 21/07/2010
7. Completed medicals on 13/08/2010
8. Received an email from Buffalo on 19/10/2010 advising that our file has been transfered to Detroit to expedite the processing of our
    application

Since then, no word from Detroit. We just hope that the saying "no news is good news", is true in our case.  Grin  Grin  Grin
