Hi,

I currently live in New York City and need state clearances for NY, TX and MA for my permanent residence application (sponsored by spouse who lives in Canada). I just received fingerprint cards and an application form from the NY Division of Criminal Justices for the NY state. I've also downloaded and printed out a fingerprint for the FBI clearance.

I had several questions:

1) Does anyone know if there is a specific police station in NY that does fingerprinting for Canadian Immigration, or will any local police station do it for the NY State Police Clearance?

2) What is the procedure for obtaining an out-of-state police clearance for MA and TX? For the MA clearance, I checked on the CORI website, and there seems to be an online application process? However, I saw a post on this website that mentioned that you can print out a form and mail the application in? I'm not sure which one is accurate? Would anyone be able to clarify? Not sure what to do for the TX clearance yet.

3) Do i need to get my fingerprints for TX and MA? And if so, where do I get actual fingerprint cards from for TX and MA police clearance? The one I received for the NY state clearance, have the Albany address on them. I'm not sure where to get blank ones. I checked at my local police station last week and they said that police stations in NY do not carry them?

Any help would be much appreciated since I'm very confused about how to proceed.

Check this link: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/Detroit/offices-bureaux/certificates-certificat.aspx?lang=eng&menu_id=332&menu=L

It has information, links and contact phone numbers for all the U.S. states.

Your clearances look almost the same as mine, MA, NY and SC

Most NY State Police Stations will do fingerprinting, I just double checked that with them last week.

I had to mail my CORI request in as it had to be notarized. I didn't need fingerprints to get it, just the notarized form and payment.

Took me forever to get the state of MA to give me this, so here you go. http://www.mass.gov/Eeops/docs/chsb/cori_request_personal.pdf
