Does anybody knows if the finger prints need to be digital or on the papers? Is that a special form we need to fill? The stupid woman on the police office didn't know anything and she was not willing to help...didn't even stand from her chair on the back of the office....

I've been trying to check with folks in this forums on this. I see a lot of private folks offering LiveScan for police certrification. Can we use one of these services? This applies to both FBI clearance as well as State clearance. If any of u find out, please post here. Thanks!

Folks I've done some research and this link appears to be what we can use for CA state police records.  link has the process for folks who are outside CA as well:

Best of luck,

i got PCCs from California. I am from a different state now. I printed the fingerprint card from the FBI site. Sent it to California, and they returned my papers with a California fingerprint card included. Just had to redo my fingerprints on their new card. It took me less than 2 weeks for the whole process. California responds pretty fast. Hope this helps.

I've done it today....it takes 1-2 weeks...I am planning to send it to cic....I was planning to send it just if they asked to...but it needs to be 3 months old...so it might be worth to send it now...

akk, so i guess you're planning to wait for the CA clearance and submit that along with the rest of the CIC papers. Right? BTW I note folks have waited for more than 2 or 3 months after getting nomination. Is that delay because of PCC from various places? I don't see any other item/doc that can become a bottleneck. or is there one I'm not aware of?

Hi Manny,

I already applied for CIC, 2 months ago, submited everything they asked but state pcc because when I applied state pcc was not requiered. Now it is.
Since I will be leaving the country at the end of this month, I decided to make the CA pcc and send it to CIC.

People are waiting 2-3 months usually because they have difficulty getting pcc from their countries...I didn't have any problems so I submitted it 2 weeks after getting my nomination.

You can go to a police office and make digital fingerprints there...don't forget to bring the required forms with you.
I paid 20 for digital printing and 32 for fee, when I went to the police office, they sent it from there..I didn't have to send anything myself.

I am currently living outside the CA, but i need CA PCC. According to the site you provided, I need manual fingerprint card along with the letter stating the purpose of fingerprint.
Am I right?
Second, Do you have any idea how long it take to get CA PCC?
Thank in advance for answering.
