Hi All,
I have lived in CA in 2 different time periods. The first was in 2001 for 3 months and the second was in 2006 for 4 months. Do I have to get a CA PCC since both put together is more than 6 months, or not since not 1 single stay was for not more than 6 months?
TIA.

I think you don't need it because you didn't stay for continuous six months, but it is good to have one......if you don't care for the PCC fee. Its my opinion. Let us know what you are going to do.... because i also have the same situation. Applicants should provide a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) certificate with fingerprints, and State certificates from all U.S. states where they have resided for a period of 6 months or more since turning age 18. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp

IMO it is better to wait for them to ask for state PCCs. I haven't seen a case where CIC asked for state PCCs. You might end up saving a few dollars.

They don't say you have to live 6 months straight. They just say 6 months, so they could consider that for you. Do you want my advice? Is the same one I am applying for myself. We already spent 1k in fees, 300 hundred in translations, 800h in medicals, so it is worth to spend 25+32 for CA PCC and be safe. I was not requested to send it, since I applied in Feb, but I wil be leaving the country, and will not be able to do it from there. So I decided to make it, I don't want to lose the process or to delay it, because I was tight-fisted about this 57 dollars... So I would say, do it...better be safe than be in suffering in doubt. Akk I think you don't need it because you didn't stay for continuous six months, but it is good to have one......if you don't care for the PCC fee. Its my opinion. wow diva - thanks for posting a brand new question i'm with akk - i would have provided ca pcc, another 25-30 bucks will only make me poorer not bankrupt. also, the way i look at it - this money is going to the police and will only help in keeping us safe, so i don't mind it. when i sent my application for va pcc, i screwed up and put my credit card number in the form and attached money order as well. when they charged my card and encashed the check, i thought about that extra 15$ - money well spent keep us updated on what you decided to do.

Hey nomad: The Virginia Police dept, especially, can use the extra money. It costs a them a lot to monitor the Vick brothers Cheers, wow diva - thanks for posting a brand new question i'm with akk - i would have provided ca pcc, another 25-30 bucks will only make me poorer not bankrupt. also, the way i look at it - this money is going to the police and will only help in keeping us safe, so i don't mind it. when i sent my application for va pcc, i screwed up and put my credit card number in the form and attached money order as well. when they charged my card and encashed the check, i thought about that extra 15$ - money well spent keep us updated on what you decided to do.

Tell me about it. I was a Hokie, in my first semester, when Mike V first came on to the scene. I was at his first game and I was hooked when he literally flew into the end-zone (he was tripped, but what the heck). I thought we had an even better QB in Marcus. But now... that's a sore spot dude

aNewHope, I may know you (unless you got your undergrad degree at VT). I became a lifelong fan of Hokie football when I stepped into B'burg that very fall! good times!!! are you going to the UGA game?

I decided to go ahead and get CA PCC too, just to avoid any future delays, just as AKK & others have suggested. Best of luck to the others in the same situation.

I am not an expert at Canadian Immigration. Please don't expect me to answer if your post title has urgent in it and it is not really urgent. Urgent is 911 or you have a definite deadline tomorrow, not that you would like to send in the application soon

I have just applied for the AINP/H1-B program last month and still waiting to hear back from them. Do you folks advise I go ahead and get my state PCC (two states in my case)? Is there any expiration to the PPC? Also, what about the FBI checks?

Current timeline is 5 months to get nomination letter. PCCs are valid only for 3 months. Wait for some more time to apply for PCCs
