Anyone from the US 2 Canada?...needing state certificates?. should I get them just in case,..or wait till they ask?. got the fbi check,...ready to send everything off,...just worried they r going to ask for state certificates.

I got PR without state certificates. I say send your app and get the state certs only if asked.

Like Allison said - you don't need to provide them unless asked.

We included state certs (4) because we were unable to obtain a police cert for one of the countries my husband had lived in for a year and a half. In other words, we included them to try to make up for a deficiency in our application.

However if it hadn't been for that, we wouldn't have gone through the trouble and would have just included the FBI cert.

We are coming from the States to Canada and currently live in Louisiana.

Louisiana does have state certificates but our reason for getting one (immigration) was not on their list of approved reasons so we couldn't get one from the state.

So we just got the FBI Certificate and sent that.
