Hi everybody Smiley

I am reading this forum for a while now and it was sooo helpful!

We are in the process of gathering all the documents needed for CIO and VO and I already have few questions.

1. VO requests education documents. I hope they want copies, am I right?
2. In last 8 years my partner, who is a principal applicant, is self employed. Does he write a letter for himself or just indicate that he was self-employed?
3. Another question about those letters of reference: years ago he was employed in SA in hotels, we talking like 15 years ago. He got a letters of reference, but they don't meet VO's requirements (total salary, business card of person signing). what then?
4. It seems that neither CIO nor VO request police clearance... that's weird...
5. I have problems with "additional family information". I understand that my partner and I have to fill this form.  How do I fill this form? I'm a bit confused when I read section A. what should I write in applicant space, my name or my partners?
6. we are in common-law relationship for past 6 years. We have 2 children together. I understand that we would have to prove our relationship at some point. We have joined bank account and to be honest that's it. My partner's name is on our lease documents, bills etc. Only car insurance is on our both names.

I hope I didn't bore you with my questions Wink

Regards to you all, Merry Xmas and all the best in New Year!

Hi everybody Smiley

1. VO requests education documents. I hope they want copies, am I right?Notarized Copies, in English or France
2. In last 8 years my partner, who is a principal applicant, is self employed. Does he write a letter for himself or just indicate that he was self-employed?Self-employed
3. Another question about those letters of reference: years ago he was employed in SA in hotels, we talking like 15 years ago. He got a letters of reference, but they don't meet VO's requirements (total salary, business card of person signing). what then? You need to meet all requirements
4. It seems that neither CIO nor VO request police clearance... that's weird...you will need one for you, and another for your spouse
5. I have problems with "additional family information". I understand that my partner and I have to fill this form.  How do I fill this form? I'm a bit confused when I read section A. what should I write in applicant space, my name or my partners? No confusion, 1 form for him as principal applicant, 1 form for you <= read the instruction again
6. we are in common-law relationship for past 6 years. We have 2 children together. I understand that we would have to prove our relationship at some point. We have joined bank account and to be honest that's it. My partner's name is on our lease documents, bills etc. Only car insurance is on our both names. You should be fine with joined bank accounts and car insurance

I hope I didn't bore you with my questions Wink

Thanks a lot.

Like I mentioned before, my partner is self-employed for last 8 years (in one of NOC professions). How do we proof this?

We are common-law partners for last 6 years. What if we decide to get married in the middle of immigration process?

We really can't meet VO standards of proof of employment from before. We only have few letters of reference, one of them shows how much was my partner earning then, but there is no way we can submit business card etc. Some of those places don't even exist anymore! I'm really confused, since some of those jobs are NOC and it would be a pity to loose this opportunity Sad

From your post I am able to estimate that your partner has more than 15 years of experience. In this case it is quite understandable that you may not have all the documentation for it.
What you need to do is make a list of jobs your partner has along with supporting documents. In cases where there are no supporting documents you can clearly mention the same. i.e the company no longer exists or the reporting boss or HR changed.
For self employment proof: In case you have your business your accounts and book keeping, Purchase orders placed on you will be sufficient, if you are a free lancer than the same thing with references number of people you work for.

Marraige: You can apply as a common law partner and when  you marry you can inform the visa office accordingly.

Btw all occupations have an NOC, out of which 29 are listed as eligible for FSW. Hope it clears your doubt.
