AINP Applicants are welcome to use forum but please make sure you get elementry information, URL's, Keywords and List of Documents so the discipline of thread discussion is maintained.
H1B (US Visa holder Stream) Nominee Applicants:
The process has two major steps:
Application to AlNP for Nomination
Application to CIC for Permanent Resident Visa
These two main steps have several small steps as classified here:
1. Application for AINP Nomination
(A). Checking the eligibility for H1B SRS category
-Must be on H1B Visa for last 1 year
-Must be working under classified NOC's
-Must be working currently for sponsoring employer (Means valid current H1B status should be maintained)
(B). Sending Application to AINP
-Fill AINP 009 forms
-Fill CIC forms which includes: IMM 0008 generic, IMM Schedule 1, 4, IMM 5406
-Attach supporting documents like I-797, I-94, Passport Demographic pages, credentials etc
(C). Recieve Notification with File number
-Once AINP gets your file, AINP will send you an email containing file number with confirmation that now your application will be processed. As per current time, Notification may take upto 4 months
(D). Get Nomination
-If decision has made favorably then AINP will send you nomination certificate and instruct you to apply at CIC within 6 months from the date of Nomination
2. Application for Permanent residence at CIC
(A). Applying to CIC for Permanent Residence:
Documents attached with application to CIC:
- Nomination Certificate
-IMM 0008 generic
-IMM Schedule 1
-IMM Schedule 4
-IMM 5406
-H1B Stamped Visa page or I 797 A and I 94
-Passport Demographice pages and Stamped Visa pages
-Application fees Money Order/bank Draft 465.00 USD or 550.00 CAD
-Police Certificates from States, FBI and Home Country (Only Originals)
-Birth Certificate
-Immigration Photos 45 MM * 35 MM
All IMM forms should be signed on the date of dispatching application
Under IMM Schedule 1, recent address should be from moving date till "Present"
Under IMM Schedule 1, recent Job should be from joining date till "Present"
(B). Recieving Medicals Exam request and Acknowldgement of reciept (AOR)
(C). Recieving letter regarding any request/case transfer at New York, Los Angeles Consulate
(D). Recieving "Passport request letter" with "Right of permanent Residence fees"
(E). Recieving stamped passport with immigrant Visa and Certificate of Permanent Residence

Abbreviations:
CIC = Citizenship and immigration Canada
NOC = National Occupational Classification
AINP = Alberta immigrant Nominee Program
SRS = Strategic recruitment system
PPR = Passport request
COPR = certificate of permanent residence
I-797 A = Notice of Action, a Notice sent by USCIS to beneficiary's employer stating that a Non-immigrant petition has been approved
USCIS = United States Citizenship and Immigration Services
I -94 = Arrival -departure record, A white small card which is given while entering in United States and has Alien entry Number on it. This card is also stamped with Date of Entry upon arrival on port of entry.
AINP 009 = Application for nomination
IMM 008 generic = Application for permanent residence
IMM Schedule 1= Background check forms which contains the questions regarding History and activites of applicant
IMM Schedule 4= This form requires information regarding available funds, Nominating Government/province.
IMM 5406 = details of additional family members like Sister, brother and parents
