Hello all,
i am new to this forum and looking to get clarity on the following topic: what are the stages of immigration to Canada as Skilled Worker?
Is there anyone who could clearly explain this, please?
Many thanks to all who will contribute.

first you send the application.
Step 1
CIC will provide you with AOR (aknowldege of receipt) and assign you a case number
The time frame is 3 months
Step 2
CIC will do an IA (intial assesment) on your application. The time frame depends upon where you applied from.
It generally involves whether you require interview or waive interview. After this step CIC will send you medicals and may ask you additional documents like FBI police certficate
Step 3
After succesful completion of Step 2, you will be issued a passport request. You need to send your passport and they will issue a visa
Step 4
Land in Canada and become a PR

Hello,
In step number 3 you mentioned that they request for the passport for VISA. Do we have to mail the passport to the same consulate where step 1 and 2 were processed? OR can we also physically take the passport the local Canada Visa Office (in U.S - example one in Detroit) instead of mailing?
Thanks,
Monica
