Hey Guys,

Just to confirm Sasi's news, I got the same letter just now. This is very disappointing.

Good luck to others.

Guys,

It's all over for IT folks including myself. I got this letter too that they're closing my file.I sometimes feel that it's good that we didn't go to Alberta. If they don't have IT jobs, we would have ended up driving a taxi or working at Mc Donalds or Tim Hortons for 5-6 cad. Remember Canada is not US and their economy depends on US economy like a parasite. After all this BS I'd even say, don't even apply for FSW because you'll lose money and  time and probably still not get a good job. AINP was a total disaster for IT people !!!

Immigrating to Canada for me is not just for an ideal job.

I wanted to immigrate so that I will have a better quality of life , bring in my parents and siblings settle down and start a family business.

I am not looking for a backup for my green card, my intention is to leave USA once i get my Canadian PR.

I know that initially it will be difficult but I can atleast endure with satisfaction that I have permanent residence.

Just because this has happened do not lose hope as economy will revive and things will start falling back to normal and then again Canada will open up for us.

Until then enjoy life as everything that happens is for our own good.

Hi Guys,

below is the response from AINP when i complained,

take a look at that "How Stupid they are"

Immigration to me
show details Mar 16 (2 days ago)

Dear *****,

Thank you for your email concerning the recent decision by the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) to close your file.

The AINP Strategic Recruitment Stream for U.S. Visa Holder Category was originally introduced to help build Alberta's labour work force.  Eligible occupations within this category are based on labour shortages in Alberta and must be on the AINP Occupations Under Pressure list.  The list is regularly reviewed and revised to ensure it accurately reflects the Alberta labour market.

As a result of the global economic climate, Alberta's ICT sector has seen a major reduction in the number of job opportunities.  This has resulted in the AINP closing the files of applicants whose ICT occupation is no longer on the list.Your file will be re-opened if you obtain a valid job offer from an Alberta employer and provide this information to the AINP no later than 01 April 2011.  For additional details about re-opening your file, please refer to the AINP letter dated 01 March 2010.

The Government of Canada, through Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), also has various immigration programs for skilled workers and business immigrants including the Federal Skilled Worker class.  For more information about CIC's programs and related application processes, please visit CIC's website at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/

Thank you for your interest in Alberta.

Matthew

SO PLEASE DO NOT WAST ANY MORE TIME WITH AINP AS THEY DO NOT KEEP THEIR WORDS!!!

Please do share any info. Thanks!
