CIC has released quarterly data till  31st Dec 2011,
The over all skilled worker inventory is around 160,000 up from 144,000 (excluding pre 2008 applications)

However the annual target for FSW is only 61,000

Talking specifically about NDVO
The inventory levels are as follows :

M1: 18658
M2:  5093
M3:  1963

Total :25714

Last year NDVO has issued about 8122 visas in Skilled worker category
This year it may be up to 9000 ,

But the inventory levels are so high, it may take around 3 years to complete
that is only ifff CIC stops accepting new applications from july 2012,

Many of forum members may perceive my post negative but all this is all based upon facts and figures provided by CIC only ,

I am just wanting  to portray the realistic picture to all , we have all seen the fate of pre-2008 people who were all riding on the hopes of positivism for last 8 years but we all know what happened to them .

To be very frank, if CIC doesn't stop in-taking of applications from July 2012 and takes special measures to address these 160000 applications ,
our Canadian hopes will be in dark only.

I wish the Canadian government should seriously look after our  concerns and we all get maple leaf very soon

Good luck to all

Dear DBC, according to the article its says increase in Federal Skilled Workers from 55,900 to 61,000, and SMD just posted that there are close to 150000 FSW applicants, which means not all will be eligible in 2012. So is it going to be FIFO method of selection or any other criteria based on NOC?

Hi,

I believe what NDVO is mentioning is true about the pre June applications in there replies that the processing will start in 2012 but finalisation may occur in 2013. It's visible on the forum as well people went into in process as early as in Jan2012 are still waiting for MR whereas other visa offices like buffalo and london are issuing the MR to pre June . I believe NDVO has one of the largest inventories of MI applications and it will take 1-2 years to finish it.

According to me ,

MI 2 and MI 3 would be given preference,

Then FIFO on the basis of 2nd AOR

Out of that number (approx 150,000), they have already rejected many of the cases in the recent months.

Hi guys...

Let me also jump into the fray and add to the confusion.

Last year I had anticipated that our chance if any would come about Diwali 2012.It is very close to it.

Now the numbers game....there is always if this then that...otherwise this. And permutations and probability just confuse everyone.

I have not gone through any data.My reading is this:
Let us assume (in all) there are 100 applicants.(one can keep on multiplying to arrive at a part.number)
In the initials stages, for incomplete app. 10% are rejected.Left with 90.From these, another 10% are lessened as unable to apply on time(submit docs). We now have 81.VO takes up files and rejects another 10% because of not having qualifying points.Left with 73.On checking 5% are rejected due to verification, etc.Left with 69.Another 5% rejected due to Interview. We now have 65.Another 5% rejected because of Medicals, not submitting updated docs.Figure now stands at 62.The Visa Target is say 30%.That means 20 -25 get Visas. So our percentage of getting a Visa is I feel 1 out of 3.

The above may have quite a number of errors. I have tried to stress the point that possibly at NDVO 1 0ut of 3 or 4 applications will get the Visa.

If rate of rejection is about 30% since January 06, 2012, approx. 1500 cases will be rejected means total approx. 3750 persons (2.5 persons per application) will be out of the queue. Now we still have about 14750(persons) in the queue for visa.

MI-2 and MI-3 total is almost 7000.
Now if MI-1 processed and given visa simultaneously with MI-2 and MI-3 than MI-1 stands good chance in 2012 otherwise only about 2000 persons from MI-1 will get visa in 2012. (considering total quota of 9000 for NDVO in 2012)

This is just calculation, what do you guys say about it?
