Hi Seniors,

I'm with my bf for 4 years and he will be able to apply for PR this December. We are not married yet because of my mom's objection.

He hopes that we should get married before his application so we can file for PR together. My concern is that my mom would freak so I want to do it later, hopefully when I get my mom's blessing, and file for my PR under the Family Class.

Can I have your opion on this? Is it much more difficult under the Family Class?

Thank you. Bless all ppl here.

If you have been living together for 1 year in C/law relationship he has to include you in his application as a common/law spouse.  If he doesn't, then you will not be considered a member of the family class in future and can't be sponsored.
