Spouse sponsorship and baby....

Hi all,

I am a Canadian citizen, currently living with my wife (A U.S. Permenant resident "A green card holder") in the U.S.

The application for permenant resident for my wife has already been submitted and on July 30 2008 Buffalo, NY Visa office started working on the application.

After the application was submited, my wife and I got pregnant. My wife's in her 8th month. and at the moment I am waiting for a respond from the Visa Office.

I have some concerns which I would like someone to suggest, please.

- Say, I get an answer from the Visa Office after once my child is born here in U.S., what will happen then? What will be the process of including my child in the application?
- Say, if I take my wife to Canada, and she gives birth to our child there in Canada, what will happen then? What will be the process? Will I still need to inform the Visa Office? I assume, the baby will be a Canadian, and will be not be required to be included in the application with her mom.

Can someone please suggest, on what to do...

I really appreciate your suggestions.

Your baby will be a Canadian citizen, regardless of where s/he is born, because you are a citizen.  If your baby is born in the US, s/he will be a dual US/Canadian . . . which is not necessarily a bad thing - if born in Canada, just a Canadian citizen . . . and perhaps also a citizen of the country your wife was born in.
