 Hi all,

I am planning to get married soon and my future wife is going to sponsor me very soon, but on the CIC website it shows a processing time of 27 month if you apply through Abu Dhabi office  as am working in uae!!
while it's 10 month only in Cairo !! Somebody told me I can apply through Cairo cause I have an Egyptian passport!! is that true??

I am really confused about!! and seems that some ppl got their visa from Abu dhabi office in less time than 27 month!! I feel it's better to apply through UAE as things are more organized here than Egypt especially after the revolution there!!

Is it better to do the papers by my self or it's better to use a lawyer!!

and if am applying through Cairo, do I have to go to Cairo every time I need to add something in the papers !! plus the Egyptian post is a big huge mess!!

You can apply through any country where you have been legally admitted for at least 1 year in case there is interview you would need to attend in that country.

What I noticed on the forum due to what is going on in Cairo Ottawa is processing those files, also with the UAE when you apply through there they ask for proof that you quit your job from your employer, NO you do no have to go to Egypt to update your file you would update via mail or email so which office you choose is up to you.

According to my knowledge Abu Dhabi office is not bad but their problem is that majority of applicants from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar,Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain are temporary residents (work or business)  from their native countries. Therefore a lot of time is consumed for background and security checks.

I agree to  kedesha's  two points:
(1) that Abu Dhabi VO is asking some applicants to resign, get exit visa and end of service settlement etc. But it is not for each and every applicants.
(2) the question of interview - you need to travel to Egypt  if it is scheduled.

Thank you so much Kedeisha, wilson.

That was very helpful. I guess I will go ahead and apply through Cairo office at least I won't need to quit my job in UAE, however i heard that the sponsor he's is the one that needs to resign not both of them, if ever they asked for such a thing!! is that true??

I Also heard that sometimes that file might automatically switch to go to Abu Dhabi since I am residing in UAE and not Cairo even if I wrote Cairo visa office on the application!! Is that true??

Hi eldeep780, you are welcome,

As you are currently resident in UAE for more than one year, possibility is there that the CPC could send the papers to Abu Dhabi office.
