hi, Everybody.

My husband is an international student and i am holding spouse open work permit, and now working in vancouver, I have been here for almost 3 years and never go back to my county, my first entry to Canada was an visitor, and change my status to hold the spouse open work permit.

Now we are applying FSW2, we have been waiting for 14 months for the medical request and the status is still RBVO. And our permits are about to expired, we sent all the documents to renew our study and my open work permit already.

We wanna go back to our home country for a month after our renew, my question is , is there anyone holding spouse open work permit had ever tried to go back to your own country and back to Canada again?

It has been 3 years not to back home since my coming to Canada as I am afraid when i am coming back to Canada, the custom will not allow me to enter into Canada because I m just holding an spouse open work permit, and my first visit here status is only visitor.

Seniors, Please please advice, I really miss my parents sooooooooo much, and now Buffalo office is crazy slow for the FSW applications. I don't know how long we still need to wait for.

Thanky you very much.

As long as you also have a multiple entry TRV or are visa exempt and your permits are valid, I don't think you would have a problem.  If your permits were expired and you are under implied status because you applied to renew and didn't hear back, then it would be risky to leave.

As Leon said earlier, if you are from a country that is visitor visa exempt you should be fine.

My wife was an "accompanying person" on my work permit and didn't have a visa of her own at all, but we left & re-entered Canada a few times with no problem as she is Australian.

Oh, I think the Chinese Passport needs the reentry visa to come into canada again, But as I am spouse work permit, i think my Visa would states Visitor, my husband's is Student. right?

So I can come into Canada again as long as i have valid permit and Multiple entry visa. Am I right?

Thank you.
