Hello There, my question would be me and my wife are about to apply for sponsorship but she was on welfare (she is my sponsor), she just started to work, is it true that the sponsor has to be off welfare for at least 6 months before she can apply? Thank you...

I believe 6 months is a generous estimate plus it gives CIC enough time to believe the work is permanent some people prefer to be off a yr its up to you the agreement states that u cannot be on welfare while the process start

My friend went thro the same thing and when she called immigration to ask they said there's no time she had to be off assistance. They said her first cheque from work would be good enough. But I would wait atleast a mth to send them off and do what my friend did, get a letter saying she doesn't receive it anymore jus incase they want some validation she isn't receiving any
