Hi everyone,
Good news! My husband is having his interview tomorrow morning in Mexico City. We have been practicing the questions posted on this forum and although we pretty much know each other so well by now... I was just wondering if there have been cases where immigration has called the sponsoring spouse? has anyone on this forum gone through that? if so, do what kind of questions do they ask you?
I am probably being paranoid about this whole sponsorship process, but i love my husband so much and I really don't want anything to prevent us from being together or starting our future here in Canada. Any advice, comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
AIRBUS604

Well first off good luck! I'm sure it is such a stressful position to be in but think of it in a positive light. It gives you a chance to prove you're genuine! They have on occasion contacted sponsor's via phone at the time of the interview. Sometimes they need clarification or want an answer to a particular question. More often though the sponsor just sits and waits .. I have even heard that an I/O went as far as talking to the sponsor's father on the phone! It really depends on the office and what that particular I/O is thinking prior to the interview. Wish I could help you more.. Good luck tomorrow and please keep us posted!

Hey there, Good luck in your husband interview tomorrow. It is good that you have been practicing the question. Concerning that they call the sponsoring spouse, I have seen some cases here on the forum, but most of them were in India, don't know why. Relax and everything will be ok, and let your husband go full of self confidence, and let him be honest, if there is a question that he doesn't know the answer, let him reply simply I don't know, the worst mistake is to invent answer, the IO has like a lie detector in their body...) Good luck

Good luck for the interview.
My only advice since your relationship is genuine, is to stay calm, & be yourself.
A LITTLE ADVICE:
Body language & Tell your spouse to stay comfortable, & remain himself... in case of doubt of the IO because some relationships come from outside the traditional cast that people are used to, but that doesn't mean that it's not genuine, so that's a good line to come out of any potential mud.
Good luck

Thank you so much for all your support, advice and good wishes! I wonder if the I/Officers in Mexico are more friendly, less aggressive, etc..? I have heard that some of the officers (ie: India) in other countries are pretty aggressive with the questions. But I guess, we will have to just wait and see what happens next. I will keep you posted.
Thanks again!
