Yes po September 2011...application received status ko for a long time na! Reunification Unit!!! Family Class!!! wth!!! * sorry for ranting here. ikaw september 2011 ei ako nga July 2011 until now ganun yun status mahirap talaga ang maghintay pero wala naman tayo magagawa its better na kausapin mo yun asawa mo at ma contatc nya yun MP na para sa inyo para matulungan kayo.. mahirap kasi kung wala aagapay sa application.. like yun isang forumer dito 19 months na wala pa din.. maybe di nya alam about using an MP para ma check at mapabilis yun application..

Yep we got an MP already.CEM replied to his query about our status and he said that initial screening has been completed ( no details as to what did they do at this stage that has been completed ) and currently queued for eligibility ( still no idea what's this stage all about...)..everything is so vague! Y not give the specific things they are looking at para mas malinaw!!! So we're not satisfied as to his reply to us.

AFAIK, eligibility assessment checks if you meets the selection criteria in that category that you applied... meaning kung spousal, common-law, conjugal, yung application nyo... they will check validity of your application for spousal/common-law/conjugal sponsorship... they will scrutinize all the documents and evidences that you submitted. They might ask for additional documents or proof (e.i AOM, Annulment certificate, CENOMAR,Certificate of finality) if they are not satisfied.
IF CEM/CIC are satisfied... then next stage is ADMISSIBILITY CHECK / BACKGROUND CHECK which includes SECURITY and CRIMINALITY check. Dito medyo tumatagal ang application since they need to consult other agencies such as CSIS, NBI, Security database and other government agencies... to know if you have any criminal record lalu na if you travel abroad or stayed more than 6 months.
Bottom line, CEM/CIC once to make sure na malinis kayo at hindi kayo threat in the Canadian soil once you land... Mostly, tumatagal sa stage na ito lalu na pag may red-flag under your name...(kung baga sa NBI may hit yung name nyo or may record kayo)... CEM/CIC will have to wait (eto yung time na hindi nila control which further prolong the processing of the application) from local agencies to clear out your name or record.. They might even ask you for an interview during this stage..
Once tapos na sa background/security check VISA na kasunod nyan.

Hello again. I was going over the forms that we need for spousal sponsorship (mejo nagsisimula nako sumagot, hahaha excited) and in the Generic Application Form for Canada there's this section under Passport, the National Identity Document. Well, wala akong UMID and I was wondering if I should enter my driver's license or just tick NO. Ano po yung mga ginawa ninyo? Thank you

But I really dunno what stage we are in now! kasi after naforward dito sa CEM they asked immediately AOM saka passport and appendix A matagal na yon wala naman hinihingi na....No idea what's the initial screening that has been completed! & currently queued for eligibilty....or baka nasa admissibility/background check na ako hehee.....

I've just read this from a friend's post:
As much as you want to plan your life, it has a way of surprising you with unexpected things that will make you happier than you originally planned...That's what you call GOD'S WILL.

Hello forumers! Just wanted to ask if you sent originals of your evidences such as boarding passes, receipts, phone bills etc.? Is it better to keep the originals and send photocopies instead?
Also, meron ba sa inyo natawag na for interview? What questions did the VO ask and what should we prepare just in case mapatawag din for interview?
Thank you very much! God bless us all!

Also, nag apply ako visitor visa noong mga nakalipas na taon para bisitahin ang then BF ko sa Canada. My then BF was my contact na nilagay ko sa application and he was supposed to accommodate me there. Nilagay namin na relationship namin is "Friend". That application was denied. My worry is isscrutinize pa kaya yun and maapektuhan kaya noon ang spousal sponsorship namin ngayon?
My husband told me not to worry about it because we have strong and solid proof of genuine relationship, but I just want more assurance.
Did anyone have a similar experience? Please share your tips. Thanks!
