please advise.. im leaving APril 9th for Vancouver, i read from before na meron makuha na certificate of drivers licence from LTO na proof na you had a drivers licence for the last 5-10 years. this will help you when you get to apply for a drivers license once in Canada not to pass thru the Learners stage but can be considered sa Class 5 drivers license..anyone knows what kind of certificate we need to get and also which LTO office ba nag issue nito? im from Mandaluyong..meron ba sa may Manadluyong or sa QC LTO office pa? will appreciate all info and help..
thanks

ahh ok.. but wory lng ako bak  matagalan application mo kasi may issue sa custody ....but nonetheless, lets keep our hope high and pray for the best Smiley Smiley Smiley

sabi ni hubby, the non-pro LTO license will do na daw. 3 months lang ang waiting time for you to get a canadian driver's license compared to the 9 months if wala talgang driver's license anywhere

I got mine from LTO Main in QC - but this needs to be authenticated with red-ribbon at the DFA. So you will need to get a driver's record but for international use, they send the copy for authentication and you have to pick it up at DFA. Specify for which when you apply at LTO.

FYI - your PH driver's licence is good for driving in B.C. or anywhere for up to 90days. Then you need to convert.

See below:
www.welcomebc.ca/wbc/immigration/settle/documents/license.page

Also - you do not have to pass through the GLP and start at learner's stage - it would not hurt also to have an international DL (issued at AAP - Aurora Blvd.) as further proof/credentials.

Keep your driver's record - it is also useful in lowering premiums when getting driver's insurance.
Good Luck!
